A freshman at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey committed suicide after he was the victim of bullying from his college roommate. Due to the fact that his roommate used social media outlets to bully the victim, causes this incident to be considered a case of cyber-bullying. I am sure the bully originally thought this was not a big deal and was just for laughs, but there are many people devastated by this: the family of the victim, the bully himself, the bully’s family, the Rutgers community and the United States.
Another example includes the viral video that was circulating the internet showing a smaller bully victimizing a larger, heavier classmate. After repeatedly punching the victim in the face, the victim took action and slammed the bully to the ground. Now both students were suspended from school and supposedly the bully’s family is suing the victim for physical damage that was done from the body slam.
