Saturday March 3rd will begin the State’s Semi-finals where the best in NJ wrestling will showcase their talent on the mat at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. This has been a long time coming for both the schools and the athletes who have trained and dedicated so much of their time to the sport.
NJ Wrestling has a tradition of grooming some amazing talent in the Jr High and High School levels. It is very common to see NJ wrestling talent in Div I wrestling programs many with full scholar ships to top academic institutions. Now this Saturday at the Boardwalk Hall, scouts from all over the nation will have their eyes on the top talent in various NJ Wrestling programs.
Training for these top level competitors is a year round process which includes intense cardio work, strength conditioning and now….Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts training. Some of the top NJ wrestling programs are now encouraging their wrestlers to get involved in Brazilian Jiu jitsu programs to enhance their overall conditioning and grappling skills.
